  • The founding name of Manchester United was Newton Heath L&YR F.C. Initially it was formed as a railway football club. In 1902, a businessman from Manchester named J.H. Davies saved the club from bankruptcy and later renamed it as Manchester United.
  • The club didn’t always wear Red as home colour. When the club was founded, they were wearing green and gold which was the colour of the Railway Company they were representing. When the club became independent, they started wearing Red and white.
  • Manchester United are the first club to score over two thousand goals in the Premier League and the first club to score over a thousand home goals in Premier League.
  • Manchester United also holds a record of conceding the lowest goals at home in a season in the history of the Premier League. The club conceded only 4 goals while playing at Old Trafford during 1994-95.
